GUWAHATI: From November 30 to December 3, 2024, Guwahati will host the India International Science Festival (IISF). In partnership with Vijnana Bharati, the Ministry of Earth Sciences and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of India will arrange it.

The purpose of the event is to honor India's scientific achievements and encourage creativity throughout the nation.
Since its launch in 2015, IISF has grown into India's biggest science festival, uniting scientists, students, educators, and the general public.

A prelude to the festival's official debut was held in New Delhi by the CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (NISCPR).

CSIR-NISCPR Director Prof. Ranjana Aggarwal emphasized the festival's contribution to fostering scientific temper, a fundamental principle upheld by Article 51A(h) of the Indian Constitution.

The event's main guest was Prof. A.C. Pandey, Director of the UGC-Inter University Accelerator Center in New Delhi.

He emphasized how important science and technology are to the development of a country and highlighted India's rich scientific heritage, which includes everything from prehistoric discoveries to modern advancements in bioinspiration and artificial intelligence.

IISF 2024 will prioritize STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), exhibiting innovative research, and motivating students.
